Jan 17, 20179 yr Hi guys!!Anyone applying to the BSN program at CSULB for Fall 2017? The threads for this program over the past few years have been very active, but nothing for '17 yet! Would love to hear from other applicants and share experiences!
Jan 22, 20179 yr Here are my stats:Science GPA: 4.00General Ed GPA: 3.48Teas Total: 90%Teas Reading: 91% If I'm doing the calculations correctly I believe that gives me 9.37 point score.
Jan 22, 20179 yr Author Science GPA: 4.00Prereqs GPA: 4.00Teas Score: 90%Teas Reading: 89.4%Total points: 9.59I am not a 100% sure I got it right also.I was reading the thread for Spring 2017 and the cut score went down a lot after they switched the Teas points from math to reading.
Jan 22, 20179 yr Yea I noticed that. I think someone said the cut off was 9.15 but when looking at the stats from CSULB they seem to get a lot more applicants for Fall and the stats are usually higher so I hope I make the cut off.
Jan 22, 20179 yr Yeah I believe it is only those certain classes used for the general ED GPA. I may call just to make sure though.
Jan 24, 20179 yr i hope they change it back to math... it's just unfair that they change it.. #sadlife
Jan 28, 20179 yr LOL!! theyre good.. mine is 8.94... i think im not going to get in, unless there's a miracle happening..
Jan 28, 20179 yr If I overkill this by explaining it too in-depth I apologize.*To calculate your GPA a transcript will make it vastly easier, as the information is all there.1) Pre-requisite Science GPA is 4 points (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology & Chemistry)Total Grade Points for 4 classes / Total Units Earned = Your GPASo if you have a 3.94 GPA your points equal 3.94 out of 4.2) Pre-requisite General GPA is 2 points (Oral Comm, Composition, Critical Thinking/Writing & Statistics)Total Grade Points for 4 classes / Total Units Earned = Your GPAThen you'll have to take your GPA for example a 3.94 and divide it by 2 = 1.971.97 out of 2 is your total points for the General portion.3) TEAS Overall Score is 2 pointsTake your grade for example an 85% overall and multiply your score by 2..85 x 2 = 1.71.7 out of 2 is your total points.4) TEAS Individual Reading Score is 2 points (You calculate it the same way as #3)Then you add all those scores up and that should give you your total points. This excludes the communication exercise and military point. If I didn't do this right please correct me, as that is how I believe it should be calculated.
