CSULA ELMN Fall 2009???

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone out there has applied to the CSULA ELMN program for Fall 2009? Maybe we can discuss what everyone's heard about their application, interviews, TEAS scores, etc.

:wink2:

That is great to hear! Congrats!!! When is your interview??????

Were you able to get any new information from her regarding interviews?

I don't have an interview... yet (I'm being optimistic). :D

And I left her a msg today to see if I could get an idea of when the interviews were actually being held (e.g. dates) but I haven't heard anything yet.

i was looking at the smileys and saw this :

Hi LovinNP!

When I talked to her about scheduling my interview, I got the idea that she was doing them on Saturdays. I believe that she is actually going to be interviewing everyone herself, but I don't know if it will be done in groups or individually. She even gave me the option of doing the interview in person or by phone (since I live far away), which I thought was nice of her. It doesn't sound like anyone else has interviewed, so I assume that March 7th is going to be the first day.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for news!!!

How did you do on your GREs. I was drawn back from applying to Western and Loma because it required a GREs. Have you heard back from any of the other schools?

Hi mnguy!

I actually was already accepted to WesternU and they didn't require the GREs (I actually don't think they required any entrance exam). I'm not quite sure Loma Linda does either...but I might be mistaken (I haven't submitted that application yet).

Hi ZooGurl!

Let's hope so, LoL. You know, what surprised me about this whole process was how nice Kathy Hinoki is. I've called her several times and she's been really nice and helpful (even when she told me about the whole 2010 thing). It's redoubled my hopes of getting in. Especially since I've read posts on here about how some schools are snarky even.

I wish you luck! From your past posts, I'm sure you'll do great.

ahhhh really?!! WesternU didn't require the GRE.. and same with Loma? Can you provide me a direct link to their program. If it's too much trouble just let me know.

Hi mnguy,

They don't require them. I tripled checked :D. Western doesn't require anything unusual aside from transcripts and rec letters. With Loma Linda, they do require you take the TEAS test as well as a "Critical Thinking" test. That 2nd test needs to be done there (I think). If you call the nursing school, they can clarify it more for you. The staff there is really nice.

The only thing with Loma Linda is their price. They don't have an "EL-MSN" program because it's a BS-MSN track. Their way allows you to get a BSN in 2 years and then apply towards their MSN track (which apparently takes about 2-3 years FT). At the Open House, we were told the BSN would be 70k (2 years) and probably more than double that to finish the MSN.
