Hi, I am new here.
My name is Michael. I am a student at UNLV and was planning on going to PA school.
In fact that is still in the plan, however the RN program really interested me. I know they are 2 different fields.
I'm looking at CSN program mainly because UNLV program i don't qualify for (i took certain classes more than 2 times).
I was wondering if anybody knows what the Pre reqs are for the 2012-2013 year?
I will be checking out the Seminar meeting in December at CSN that is mandatory.
I also saw a form that says healthcare experience (from an employer). I don't have current health care experience other than the butt loads of hours i have in the Level 1 Trauma care/ER that I have shadowing and assisting a Physician's Assistant.

CSN goes on a point based system, you get points for certain classes. You need to have English, Math 120 or medical math, Bio 189, 223, 223 and 251, Psychology, Nevada state and constitution classes, sociology, communications, and you have to take your TEAS test. You don't have to have medical experience, but if you do you get points for them. You want to have at least 27/28 points to apply. Points are based on your GPA for Eng, math, Bio 189 and 223 and psych. Then you get points for the other classes, points for medical experience and points for how well you did on the Teas test.
this is the point breakdown http://sites.csn.edu/health/nursing/adnspringselection.pdf
And the requirements. http://sites.csn.edu/health/nursing/adncurricfallregular.pdf
Thank you so much for the information breakdown.
Looks like I am still somewhat under qualify....I just need to take a communications class and i'm at 26points.
Well, that should give you 31 when you finish it! And you are welcome :)
