CRNE

Hello,

So I just found out that i failed the CRNE... It was my first attempt... I went to nursing school in Canada, However, I do not want to work in there. I am a US permanent resident and want to work in the US (California) . I was wondering If I need to pass the CRNE first before I am eligible to write the NCLEX?

Depends on the state you apply to. Some require a local license

Sorry to hear your news.. But about your question, and if i'm going to base it on my experience, i think you need to be licensed first in the country where you obtained your nursing education for you to be eligible to take the NCLEX in California. But if you're already a US resident, I guess that's a different case.. Since i have a friend that right after we graduated from our country, she left right away for US without taking our licensure exam since she had to respond to the petition for US permanent residency. When she got in the US, she was able to take NCLEX after some months, i'm just not sure how she worked on that. It'll helpful also if you check the California Board of Nursing website. If it's ok for me to ask.. Did they tell you the passing mark for this June 2012 CRNE?

You have to check the state you want to work in. Some states from what I remember do not require that although most do. Please contact the nursing board in the state you will be living in and they can help you with the best answer!
