Hello, I'm a first year LPN student and having a hard time with my test as far as the critical thinking, where would I go to get more practice questions on critical thinking?

Purchase this book:
Test Success: Techniques for Beginning Nursing Students
written by Nugent & Vitale
It is EXCELLENT! Lots of practice questions and it teaches you how to use critical thinking & apply it to all sorts of nursing questions. I've used it as a study aid for my first two nursing exams this semester.....got an A and a B+!!!

Fundamentals for Success is also great.. It has lots of questions and although not exact alot of my test questions, correlated with the questions in that book.

Hello there,
I too am a first year LPN student. If anyone reading this has anymore suggestions, it would be a great help.
I am finding Fundamentals of Nursing to be a hard subject as the tests are all "critical thinking". In general, I would say that I have good critical thinking skills. I even scored exceptionally high on a test to measure my critical thinking skills. However, I have a great deal of trouble with the critical thinking questions we are given for each test. They don't give us any forum or materials to practice these skills. And the material is not presented in such a way as to get us thinking in that fashion. And I often find myself wondering, even after I have heard the rationales, how I would ever have figured out the answer for these questions on my own.
We hear the mantra "You have to think like a nurse", yet we aren't given the tools to do so. I just wish to have some place else to practice these things BEFORE I am taking a test. It is disheartening.
