hi all i'm in an lpn program a classmate told me right before school started she got arrested for shoplifting, this is her first run in with the law but now she want to drop out because she thinks she could never get her license what should she do? ( oh yeah she is an excellent student the top of the class)

She needs to talk honestly with the instructor. The outcome may be better than she thinks. No need to quit until told the worst.

I think she meant that she will pass the advice you gave on to the person who has the problem. :)

desiring to change behaviour, doing well in nursing classes, owning up and making amends for this mistake will go along ways with bon review ---which can only be done upon program graduation and submission license request to bon. it's more common to see new licensee on 6 months probation for minor offense... i would not leave program over this issue but learn and grow from it.
new jersey board of nursing disciplinary and licensure ...
