Hi all,
I am new here and really need some advice/input. I am 26 years old, and have applied for a Pratical Nursing program this January 2012. I am quite worried since, when I was 18, I got into some trouble with the law. I was a really bad kid and stole something from a store I had pled guilty, since I was guilty, and now have a theft charge on my crimnal record. This is so embarrassing as it has been with me for sooo long! I applied for a pardon (they are quite expensive since I am going through a third party) but I do not think I will get the pardon in time for any placement I will have if I get accepted to the PN program. I have such a bad feeling about this and I know I have changed. That was honestly the first and last time I had ever stole anything! I learned my lesson and now it is potentially preventlng a career for me. I am so angry with my situation.
So, does anyone know how early you would get into placement? Do I have to have the clear record/sectors BEFORE even starting the program?
Any info will be greatly apprieciated!

Ok, placements usually start in second semester.
We had one girl in my group get arrested for a bar brawl and she was out of the programme pdq.
You are working with the vulnerable sector and the police check has to come back clean.
