CPNE BOUND!!!!!!!

Hello fellow EC students out there!!! I have been lurking allnurses well, for years!!! I decided now is the time to (for selfish reasons) to enter this community. I have finished my EC exams, mailing in FCCA today and finishing CPNE app. This has been an amazing journey!! I am a mother of two children, expecting another one in June. I have been an LPN in Long term care, pediatric clinic, med surg, LDRP, now currently working in a lockdown, Alzheimers unit. I am interested in hearing from any of you in the program how you are doing, and experiences in the CPNE. Specifically how much clinically in your experiences was the CPNE. Colostomy changes? TPN? ETC. It has been awhile for that stuff and wondered how indepth I should be prepared. Good luck to you all and if anyone has questions for me I would be glad to answer!!

Congratulations on completeing your classes! Next stop CPNE

If you are wondering if the Pt's at clinical have colostomys and TPN the answer is yes. They have hemovacs, feeding tubes and wounds too. It all depends on what's in the hospital and what Pt's agree to have students...that's what determines your clinical assignments. As for studying....Do you remember how you studied for your clinicals in LPN school?...well it's kind of the same thing but at a "GN" level. And it's Nursing school all over again so it's everything by the book with the Excelsior College twists added. Study hard to know your stuff and go prepared and you will be successful! Good Luck:)
