CPCC Spring 2018

Hello everyone,

I would like some friendly input from anyone that has already been accepted to the Nursing program at Cpcc before. I have finished all my pre-reqs and will be taking the TEAs in July. If I get an 80 overall on the TEAs then my total application points will be about 47. My question is will my application be strong enough for consideration ?

Hey there,

I will also be applying. Have you taken the TEAS yet? I plan on taking it August 28th, 2017 and submitting my application the same day. I'm claiming that we will be accepted into the program for spring 2018!

Sounds like a plan to me. I am taking my TEAS on Monday, wish me luck !

You will do amazing! I'm claiming it. Let me know how it goes :)

How was it? I hope you did great!

Thank you for the well wishes. Unfortunately I did not make the 70% but i did get a 69.3 can you believe it lol.

There was a combination of things that happened. 1 I had to go to the bathroom after the reading section which wasn't hard. Then in the math section i ran out of time and had to rush the last 10 questions and still left one unanswered.

The science had me stumped on have the questions. The English at the end wasn't so bad but I definitely rushed it.

but if you study the book closely it is very similar to the test.

Also have you taken all your prerequisites yet?

Oh wow! I think thats close enough though. I highly doubt they will make a big deal about it. How long did you study before taking the test?

Fortunately yes, I finished my last prequisites this summer. Literally finished just last week.

I studied for a good 6 weeks between the ATI book and practice test.

I spoke to the Nursing Admin Specialist and she told me I should take it again and even if i got in for spring it would still take me two years to graduate because you have to take the NUR classes one at a time. I finished all my perquisites too.

Idk if im going to apply anyway, take it again or try to transfer.

I think that you should still go ahead and apply. I'm still rooting for you to get in. í ½í¹‚

This is my plan: Since CPCC is so competitive, I have a plan B and C. CPCC's program is plan A and I really hope to get into their nursing program Spring 2018, however, I am also submitting applications to SPCC and SCC. Their prerequisites are slightly different so I have to take CIS-110, BIO-275, and a Chemistry, which I have resigistered to take this Fall semester at SPCC. The application deadline for SPCC is February 14,2018 and the deadline for SCC is some time in January. Those programs wouldn't start until Fall 2018 but I'm just really trying to get into a nursing program because it's something I really want to do. If SPCC and SCC aren't too far from you, you should apply to their programs as well. It's worth a shot! Still apply for CPCC to get in for the Spring semester though, it won't hurt!

That sounds like a solid plan you have. Thanks for all the positivity. I am going to take the TEAS again next month. Hopefully its a high score. I will try to get in for this spring.

You will do awesome. I believe that you can only retake the TEAS once every three months though if I'm not mistaken. I hope we see each other in the nursing program this coming spring at CPCC. :)

Hey,

Just wanted to give an update. so i took the TEA's again, unfortunately i did not surpass my previous score but i submitted my application anyway with a total of 45 points. Hopefully my grades will get me accepted. Have you submitted your application, and how many points do you have if you don'tmind me asking.

I actually took the TEAS yesterday for the first time.

74.5-Reading

84.4-Math

63.8-Science

83.3-English

Overall 74%

The test questions were actually easier than the ones from the book in my opinion. However the timing is intense! My overall application score ended up being a 43.5 I'm hoping that we will still get in. I turned in my application yesterday (very last minute I know lol). If we don't get in this round we'll just keep trying! Have you considered applying elsewhere?
