CPAP and BiPAP?

CPAP is constant pressure, and Bi pap is in and out; if you're talking about the machines??

just google cpap and bipap lots of info on websites cpap continous positive airway pressure bipap bilevel positive airway pressure cpap is to treat apnea pt;s bipap is to treat pt;s who are having breathing problems before they want to intubate the pt's most of the time. cpap-continous positive airway pressure-basically is used to keep airway open. Used alot initially in pts with OSA.

bipap- bilevel positive airway pressure= gives 2 pressures, an inspiratory pressure( to open airways) and an expiratory pressure (to keep airway open) Used with OSA pts and alot in crashing pts. instead of intubation. Your RT can set a rate on the bipap. Basically Non Invasive Ventilation

Mask must be snug!!!
