Could someone please help clarify a few things about MCC/Banner programs?

If anyone could please clarify and/or confirm, that would be great...I just want to make sure I am on the right page with all of this. I'm sorry, I know it has been covered before but with everything on here about the program and the website, I just want to make sure I'm on the right page.

I am moving permanently to AZ. I must complete pre-reqs AND co-reqs to APPLY for the Banner Nurse Fellows program. I must ALSO qualify for resident tuition so I'd have to be in AZ for at least 1 year b/c Banner will not pay non-resident tuition. I would apply for the program, and it is based on GPA and interviews and an essay. It starts up 3 times a year and is an accelerated program. Banner pays for all of your tuition and books and in exchange you sign a contract to work for them for 3 years following graduation.

I know there is a waiting list for MCC colleges for the nursing programs - do you have to be accepted INTO the program to apply for Banner's program, or do you just have to be on the waiting list? And can you put your name on the MCC waiting list IMMEDIATELY? Or do your pre reqs and/or co reqs need to be complete for that as well?

(another random question - since you sign the contract, is employment guaranteed?)

Thank you in advance SO MUCH! I have sent some emails to the MCC colleges but haven't heard anything back yet.

i must complete pre-reqs and co-reqs to apply for the banner nurse fellows program. yes, no exceptions.

i must also qualify for resident tuition so i'd have to be in az for at least 1 year b/c banner will not pay non-resident tuition. yes, i do believe it is one year...check though on all of the requirements like vehicle registration and licenses that used to be a factor as well.

it is based on gpa and interviews and an essay. yes, the gpa, net score and essays are submitted when you apply. if those get a certain number of points then you will be called for an interview.

it starts up 3 times a year and is an accelerated program. yes, 2 separate cohorts are started 3 times a year, but remember that currently 1/2 of the cohorts are for current students with a ba or bs in a different field.

banner pays for all of your tuition and books and in exchange you sign a contract to work for them for 3 years following graduation. yes

i know there is a waiting list for mcc colleges for the nursing programs - do you have to be accepted into the program to apply for banner's program, or do you just have to be on the waiting list? yes, you should already be on the waiting list but probably won't be assigned a seat in the maricopa district

and can you put your name on the mcc waiting list immediately? or do your pre reqs and/or co reqs need to be complete for that as well? you must complete all pre reqs before applying at maricopa county schools + get fingerprint clearance, net score, etc...while you are waiting you can complete the coreqs attend banner's orientation then apply to the program. http://www.maricopa.edu/nursing/pdfdocs/nursingapp.pdf

(another random question - since you sign the contract, is employment guaranteed?) sort of...as long as there is an opening otherwise no but you will not be expected to pay banner for your education expenses.

thank you in advance so much! i have sent some emails to the mcc colleges but haven't heard anything back yet.
