Could you handle it?

Has anyone here worked 2 jobs,p/t and f/t,while in nursing school? How long? Was it too much to handle at once or just out of pure necessity to pay for school, bills and such?

This may be my only option besides putting off school for another year(NO!!!) so I'm just trying to gain some insight from those of you who have been in the same boat. Thanks  :selfbonk:

I'm sure anything is possible - however I could barely work a P/T job during NS and that was largely due to the classroom schedule, clinical schedule and lab schedule. There simply wasn't enough days or hours in a week to work more than P/T during school.

I also had to drop to PRN status during the last part of my schooling because NS was more important than money near the end....credit cards and loans became very close friends near the end......

I worked F/T and P/T during nursing school...just depending on how hectic our schedule was for the semester. When I first started, I could barely work P/T though because we had SO many classes.....But as you get further along in nursing school, you will know how big of a load you can deal with. If possible, try to get on at your local hospital as an nurse intern/extern. The pay is pretty good, and you can pretty much make your own schedule.
