Cook Childrens Nursing Preceptor program

I have heard that Cooks (in Fort Worth) has newly graduated nurses go through a program including classes. Have any off you gone through this? What does it consist of? Thanks!!! :redbeathe

I'm not working there, but I did interview there, and they do a pretty extensive orientation with classroom time and all that. A lot of education time focusing on pedi-doses.

When I interviewed a few weeks ago, and with some of my applications there, they told me that the hospital had hired 70 or so new GN's in June so most of the units are up to their "GN capacity" and aren't hiring any new grads until January.

Not sure if that helps or not...

Of course it helps! Thanks so much for your info! :D

Hey all!

I too was curious about this! My dream job is to graduate nursing school and get a job at Cooks in the NICU. :heartbeat I know they don't just throw you in and say "Go for it!", but I wondered exactly how much training and guidance they offer before you're all on your own!

Thanks much!!!
