Conused about RN's

In order to become a RN, first I could consider what college you are interested in. Each college has their own required classes (such as biology, chemistry) before applying to the nursing program. There are a few different ways of going about it if you are definitely interested in the bachelor degree.

First, you could start taking prerequisite classes at a community college, then transfer to a four-year college for the BSN. This is usually a cheaper option.

Second, you could begin a four-year college to start out with and look up the prereqs on their website.

Usually whether you plan on attending a community college or a large university, their websites are helpful in finding out what the prereqs are before applying to the nursing program.

I would speak to your high school counselor/advisor about your plans. They should be able to direct you in applying for college, if you need to take SAT or ACT, and help with financial questions.

Lastly, volunteering will look good on your application. When you become 18 (or whatever age is acceptable to work), I would suggest trying to find a nursing aid job. Since you are a junior in high school, then it would be more likely to do this once you start college. It will expose to patient care and may be helpful on nursing school application. I would see if you could graduate early.

Then start jaming on classes to graduate early with your BSN in Nursing.

Talk to your guidance counselor at your school. He/she should know which schools in your area offer BSN nursing programs and then schedule visits to these campuses in the next year. Research the schools and see which ones have the best NCLEX pass rates. Get a feel for which school would suit your needs the best. When you start college they should assign a education advisor that will advise you on what classes you need to take and in what order.
