Continuous feed and med administration

Can anyone tell me if medtechs are allowed to give meds to a continuous feed patient if machine is disconnected? And if not, can you explain why. Any input would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with a med tech. Can you explain what their role is? Are they licensed? It seems that giving medications would be outside the scope of practice for them, although like I said, I'm not familiar with the role of a "med tech".

This would depend on the limitations imposed on the med tech by the state practice act. Best to either get the information from the supervising nurse on duty or to contact your state licensing/certification authority. If you ask the question in writing, in the form of a letter or email, you can provide a copy of the written response to the employer.
