Considering a move to Florida!

Hello,

As the title states, I am thinking about moving to the Tampa area from the Twin Cities. I have a sister that lives there and loves the area. I have visited several times and love it as well.

I am an ADN nurse and will be finishing up my BSN at the end of the year and wouldn't move until probably next spring. I'll also get Public Health Nurse Certification.

I am interested in Clinic Nursing. I do not want to work in a hospital or long term care setting. I have never had the desire.

I have 6 years of clinic nursing experience in my specialty-which is Allergy and Asthma. And 4 years of Nursing Supervisor experience.

I would be looking for a job in Allergy and Asthma or Pulmonary. I do not necessarily have to be a supervisor either, I would actually prefer to start as a staff nurse. I will start the process in the next couple months to obtain a FL nursing license (I have seen the post on that and it is very helpful).

So my questions are:

-Are there any clinic nursing jobs for BSN nurses? If so, which medical groups are good places in the Tampa area?

-What is the pay for a Clinic Staff Nurse with a BSN or Nursing Supervisor?

-If working at a clinic will be a challenge what other avenues of nursing can I try?

-Are there county nursing jobs available?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ella,

You won't regret moving to Tampa Bay. I dont think there are many county jobs specializing in Allergy/Immunology. Your best bet would be to look into the private A&I groups in the area. There are tons of them. Also, you could probably find a nice clinic job with perhaps some management included.

Public Health nursing such as working for the health department might be of interest to you.

Best of luck!
