Confused

Hi I am a nurse graduate from the Philippines, I am currently living here in Illinois and a greencard holder, and I applied my NCLEX-RN in California(because California does't require Philippine License in order to take the exam unlike here in Il.). If I will pass the NCLEX in California, I am planning to work here in Illinois, is it possible for me to use my California license here in Illinois, I am so confused so help me out guys, pls? tnx!

A California license is no good in Illinois. US states license nurses individually, and, even if you get a CA license, you will still have to get an IL license to practice in IL. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that, in most cases, states require foreign graduates to meet all the foreign graduate requirements even if you're endorsing a license from another US state, so, if IL requires you to have a local (PI) license in order to be eligible for IL licensure, they'll still require you to have it even if you're applying through endorsement from another US state.

(I thought California was requiring foreign graduates to have a local (their home country) license to be eliglble for CA licensure -- has that changed again?)

Best wishes.
