Conferences / Cruises

I have been to some small conferences but I have been wondering:

The big conferences: Vegas, Disney etc.... are they worth it?

Educational cruises.... are they worth it?

Take the family (in my case it would wife only)???

I''ve gone to some big conferences (Las Vegas and Chicago) but didn't take the hubby because he would have been bored stiff - lol. I usually spend my $1500/year and 40 hours on something I don't get as much exposure to so that I can expand my knowledge.
