  1. Is chamberlain College of Nursing worth a shot?

So far I've gotten accepted to the Chamberlain College of nursing in Houston,TX for January 2013; since I am aiming to get my CRNA's I am worried if after i finished here at chamberlain I wont be able to transfer to another school..

So far during the enrollment process my advisor has been leaving out some stuff or forgetting stuff..

* Such as orientations meeting,

* there was a math test I had to take after the hesi test in order to wipe away 3 math classes, If it wasn't for me asking they would've done my curriculum with the 3 extra clases. (better said they did do my curriculum along with the 3 extra classes)

* I've called several times and can't get ahold of anyone nor can anyone give me any answers to my doubts.

So far I have had a not so good experiences with the process enrollment, and well everything they've had me doing so far, such as drug test, paperwork, financial aid, was done at a rush and at last minute..

So my thing now, is it really worth going to chamberlain after the experience I have had with them.. if that has been what I experience now, will it be the same after I start the nursing program with them??

as of now I am having second thoughts about this school..

Has anyone had issues transfering chamberlain credits to another state university?

What are you thoughts on chamberlain..

I've been having recent trouble getting in touch with them too. I figure because of the holidays everyone is busy or on vacation. You can test out of classes?

Well i did get an email earlier today from on of the advisors ( I think she is), she responded to me via email; According to the lady who is doing my curriculum said " that the school was going to be open today, tomorrow and friday.

Yes You can test out of the math classes.. Have you been accepted?

Oh ok thank you for the info! I have not been accepted. I'm applying for the second degree BSN which starts in May. I starting sending my stuff on Nov. 20. I called them on the 21st and a lady told me two transcripts are still pending...

Don't know when I should call them again to see if they finally got all my materials.

well they are open, so until friday, I think you should keep trying.

If you want email me I can give you the number to the financial advisor that is on duty there right now.. [email protected]

don't do the 2nd degree.. Do the full program.. I know a couple people who started out trying to do 2nd degree and all have switched to the regular curriculum and feel it's the best decision they've ever made.. The amount of information that you have to learn and be able to apply not just regurgitate on top of trying to teach it to yourself (all theory courses are online) is alot to do in an accelerated program.. just my 2 cents... whereas the full program is on campus where you can interact with students/teachers to get feedback, bounce ideas off each other and rationales

The school itself is great.. It's new so they are still trying to add more staff to accomodate the recent influx of students applying and being admitted. Once you start, you will fall in love. I started in July and think it was a great decision. I was skeptical at first also but I'm sooo glad I came.

Thank you for your advice. Yeah we will see what happens first. I just don't want to have to repeat classes I've already taken when I earned my BS in Bio.

Thanks for your advice houstonrhhopful, are you doing the whole 3 yr program?

So I've decided not to continue with Chamberlain, when I had doubts and gotten in contact with someone I was not able to get a straight answer, or sometimes I was not able to get in contact with anyone; not to be mean or ugly to the school in any way, but so far my experience with the enrollment process was not so great.. to me if this is the way they are now, (unable to get in contact with anyone, or them forgetting to tell us as future students of what is needed for the enrollment process, what is the next step or about school meetings) stuff like that, are they going to be like that for the whole school years? later on I don't want to get screwed over because someone dropped the ball somewhere along the way.. This is just the way I feel about them..

Oh no! I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Chamberlain. I have been having difficulties getting in contact with them too. I am applying for the May entering class so I pray I get accepted and know soon. I haven't heard anything about an interview yet either. :/
