Compression hose or socks?

I wore compressions socks in nursing school. Now that I'm going to be on my feet 12 hours, I'm thinking hose might be the way to go.

What brand do you wear?

Thanks,

I sometimes wear medical-grade TED hose since longstanding hypothyroidism leaves me prone to fluid retention in the lower extremities. Medline is one of the name brands that comes to mind. They can be obtained on Ebay or Amazon.

I really like the L'eggs Sheer Energy Full Support hose. They are a lot cheaper than the official, medical support hose, but they have a lot of support. You can get them at any of the Hanes outlet stores in bulk even cheaper. They come in white as well as fashion colors.

You probably would benefit more from thigh high compression stockings or pantyhose because the compression doesn't stop below the knee like it does with compression socks.

At the lower end we have found Hanes Alive Support PH, L'eggs Active Support and Sheer Energy to be good options. Nononsense Smart Support PH also features graduated compression. If you prefer compression stockings Ames Walker or Shop National have some good and reasonable options both with toes and open toe versions. Open toe style can prevent pressure or pinching on the toes especially if you are on your feet all day like in your case.

If you spend a little time searching the web there is a wide variety of fashionable compression stocking products and price ranges to be found. It is well worth it to try different styles and brands to find out what works best for you.

We are also planning on adding a product review section to our site Compression Stockings & More Compression stockings, support hosiery, compression apparel soon so keep checking there sometimes for the latest news or sign up for our feed.

I hope this helps some.

Best regards,

Gregory
