Does anyone know if Collin County will accept College Algebra in place of Statistics for the pre-req?
A friend who is attending there said yes, but I am still a bit uncertain.

The best way to clear something up if you are uncertain is to ask questions.
My advice to you is to call the Advising Office and ask for the Advisor(s) that handle the Nursing Advising. They should be more than happy to help you since you are showing intrest in the Nursing Program.
The only catch that may come up is if your Math Class is more than 5 years old. That's how they handle the Math Prerequisite in the Dallas County Community College District.
Hope this helps,
I've left a v-mail and emailed the pre-nursing advisor and have yet to get a reply. Just thought I'd ask on here.
I am currently taking College Algebra so hopefully it will transfer. i originally wanted to apply at El Centro, but am leaning towards Collin County now.

I am not for sure, but I think College algebra is a pre req for Stats....and I read that there isn't a time limit on math anymore.
Good Luck to you

At this point in time CCCCD only requires Intermediate Algebra (not College Algebra) as a pre-req for statistics.
At this time you cannot substitute one for the other.
The only time limit (at this point in time) is on the science classes.
Seems like something changes every year, that's why they recommend
attending one of the several information sessions held throughout the year.

That would be cool if Quad C accepted the college algebra class. I have a B.S. in Education and a minor in Political Science and I took college algebra, and various other math classes. I also have 8 hrs of physics and 8 hours of biology classes I took in college (but they were non science majors). I took Statistis 2 years ago in Arizona. I meet with an advisor in a few weeks, so hopefully I will find out if they will accept my "general" required classes from SWT. Does anyone know what are the toughest classes at Quad C ? I need to take both A & P classes, basic chemistry, and the biology 1406. Anyone taken these classes?

I have taken AP I, Statistics and am currently taking APII and Microbiology. All in all I would have to say Micro has been the most difficult with AP I coming in second. If I could make a recommendation, I would take Ms. Foster for Statistics, Ms. White for AP I and II, and Mr. Hanks for Micro. You should learn alot from these instructors, at minimum make sure you have a full time instructor, they are better IMHO thant the part-timers. To tell the difference between a full-time staff and a part-time staff is that the full time staff members name will be on the schedule, while the others will be known as "staff"
