COLLEGE NETWORK

Published

I AM CURRENTLY AN LPN WORKING FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS. I HAVE BOUGHT THE "BOOKS" FOR THE REST OF MY PRE-REQS THROUGH COLLEGE NETWORK TO CONTINUE WITH A DEGREE FROM WA STATE. HAS ANYONE FROM WA STATE COMPLETED THIS PROGRAM? HAS ANYONE TAKEN MICRO, A AND P'S AS I HAVE TO RE-DO MINE BECAUSE THE A AND P I TOOK FOR MY LPN DIDN'T HAVE A LAB. I'M JUST CURIOUS HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO FINISH ALL THE COURSES? IF MICRO IS DUABLE IN THIS TYPE OF SITUATION? HOW LONG DID YOU HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE TAKING THAT CLINICAL WEEKEND TEST? I HAVE TONS MORE QUESTIONS BUT ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU!!!!!:nurse::rolleyes:

You should direct your questions to an advisor at Excelsior College as this is the school that you will get your degree from. http://www.excelsior.edu The College Network is a publishing company that is not a school and can not grant degrees. They sell overpriced study guides that can be found on ebay for $15 to $30 apiece. Today a former student has all the TCN study guides for sale at one of the yahoo EC groups for $50. Too bad you didn't do some reading on the topic of The College Network on this site before you signed the contract.

I've never understood why people use a 3rd party like TCN to navigate through Excelsior's program. Even Excelsior warns that it can be a bad idea. I certainly found EC's own resources adequate for getting good grades on the exams. But I guess it's helpful for some people so I hope you get value for your money.

You're aware that in order to be licensed in Washington State with an Excelsior degree you'll need an extra 200 hours of clinicals, right? You'll have to find a preceptor and arrange for that on your own, Excelsior doesn't offer clinicals.

Finally, just as a favor, could you please not post in all caps? It's the online equivalent of shouting. Thanks and good luck!
