which college do i choose?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

hello everyone,

I am new to this cite so i am learning more about it each day. I decided to go into nursing and i recently got accepted into felician college, the school not the actual nursing program yet. i heard it was a really good school for nursing but i need to take all the pre-requisites first before being accepted into the program. should i go to the school and start off everything fresh there or take pre-requisites at my community college? Bergen community college is also now associated with kean university with a BSN is that program better than felicians? HELP !!!

It's really up to you to decide that, no one here can tell you what to choose. If it were *me* however, I would choose the community college. Mainly because it's probably a lot cheaper than a University and if they have a nursing program you can stay there if accepted.

Yep it's up to you. There is a lot to think about. I got accepted to Saint Mary's College of California and I chose the community college that I am at now over the oh so prestigious Catholic private school that I go accepted to. I don't regret it because the school I am at now has a very good reputation and has a program that state school nursing students move over here to be in! Just make sure that you base your decision on the right reasons.

I agree with the above posters, it is up to you. I got roped into my expensive, private school because they are giving me over half the tuition in scholarships. If I were to switch to the CC near me, which is absolutely horrible, I would lose my scholarship and would have to pay 25K a year when I transfer. That school is the ONLY BSN program near me and, with the economy, I am scared to get an ADN.

I know lots of people that take transferable pre-req's to save money before going full-time to a traditional four-year school. Can't imagine how there could be a downside to that. :)

Yep. This is my plan B and I cannot say that I regret it at all. I have 100% tuition payed right now and had 0% paid at Saint Mary's!
