I am waiting on my last recommendation letter so I can mail in my package!! And I am already nervous about alll of it! Applying...getting in...or not....what's it going to be like if I do get in? Will I still be able to work?

On that note, I am excited also!!

I am excited as well! I have wanted to do this since my first year as an OB nurse. I wish I knew what they were looking for (Do they focus more on grades, essays, expierence, ect.) Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!

Oh, I know what you mean! I am having my husband proof read my essays!! I don't want to sound like some crazy person! :) I am not to worried about grades as my gpa is good, and I have 9 years of nursing experience with 1 year OB.

I am a little worried about what this new curriculum is going to be starting with class 119.

I will keep you in my thoughts!! And we'll have to let each other know what happens!! :) It would be great to know someone at Frontier Bound (if/when we get in)!

Do you know how many students the accept per class?

I don't. :( I was wondering the same thing. I tried to find out by researcing online but was unable to locate the info.

If you don't mind me asking where are you located? I am in Oklahoma.

I am also applying for Class 119. I am just finishing up on my essays and then will send my packet off. The website doesn't say anything about how long Essay 2 needs to be about how you plan to apply yourself in graduate school. How long were your essays for that? And good luck with getting in!

Nelle....I am working on essay 2...that's all I have left. I am having trouble putting it into words!! I will do whatever it takes to complete the CNM degree. My first essay is around 450 words. My plan is to get the essay done today and fill out the application and then mail my packet this week!! :) Good luck to you also!!

OBRNED - I sent an email to one of the admissions counselor's and she said they take approx. 65-67 applicants (per class - 8 times a year) for all the master's programs and it breaks down to the following: NP - 25/26, CNM - 25/26 and the remainder go to WHNP

Okay so it's official I have mailed off my packet as of today!! YIKES!! :angrybird3: And submitted my application online yesterday! Here's to the waiting!!

I am so excited for all of us!

I am from Illinois (Southern not Chicago). I have been an L&D nurse for seven years and I have been the obstetric and nursery educator for two years now. I love my job but I want MORE! Where are you all from and whats your backround?

My second essay was not long at all. The requirements just said to write a "well rounded statement".

Who knows :banghead:.

Neither was my second essay. Very short and to the point.

I have been a nurse for 5 years, with experience in home health, psych and L&D. L&D is my passion, but like you OBRNED I wanted more. So now I am patiently (anxiously) awaiting to hear one way or another!! :)

So the new degree options are posted. Has anyone looked at it? For the first time starting with the class we have applied to 119, Frontier is now offering a MSN-DNP midwifery! I asked about it. We don't have to complete the whole program, we have the option to stop at our masters or to continue on and get the DNP.

If we go fulltime the program will take us 13 terms instead of just 10.

Part-time 19 terms instead of 14. What does everyone think? Do you think you will go on or just stop at your MSN?

Cost is now $40,905 according to the website for both fulltime and part- time if you complete the MSN w/DNP.
