Is it worth your while to be a CNA while in nursing school? I would like to get certified but I cannot decide if the experience is worth the money. I just wanted to see if anyone in a similar situation had any input.

I think it is great to work as a C.N.A while in school. I am a C.N.A and have been for the past five years and really enjoy working as one. I work in a hospital and am a float which means they put me where ever they are short at and I have seen so many things and learned so many terms that I am ahead of most of my class mates because I have had hands on experience. I got my training in a nursing home it was free a three week course than I had to take state boards and do a clinical assessment in front of a R.N and then I was licensed. Some community colleges cost around $200-300 for the course but I feel before you go to nursing school you should be a C.N.A to be sure your idea of "nursing" is really what you are thinking it is and to be sure you like position. Good Luck!!!!!!!!
