CNA work?

Specializes in ICU hopeful!.

Hi there,

I was posting on these boards a few months ago...man life gets busy. Anyway, I am moving to Wickenburg from Seattle, WA. I leave on Feb 15th. I am having my current non-nursing job transferred but I'm very unhappy there (plus I will be driving to Tempe 4x a week) and really want to start nursing school and my prereqs.

I was thinking of taking a part time job as a CNA - here in WA a lot of LTCs offer free CNA schools and you just have to work for them for like 6 months. Does anyone know of anything like that in AZ? Preferably in the Wickenburg area but I am willing to travel to Surprise if need be or Sun City.

Also, are CNA jobs that are part-time fairly easy to come by? I mean, I know in this economy jobs aren't really easy to come by but I guess I'm asking about working part-time positions, is that pretty popular? My goal is to be an RN but I was thinking CNA would give me an insight to the profession?

Any input is greatly appreciated.
