I went to the local tech college for my CNA. I know nursing homes, LTCs and the Red Cross also provide training for CNA (though you may have to work for the nursing home for a period of time to pay back for your education.) Call around to the hospitals to see where many of their CNA's got their education from.

As far as what the job entails, that will vary but mostly it will be assisting people with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting etc. In the hospital you may also be trained to do blood sugar checks, foleys, transport patients to different procedures.

Good Luck

hey - thanks for the quick reply!

I don't know what state you're in, but you might want to check your state's Board of Nursing site. They should have a list of all approved schools.

I did my CNA training through my communtiy college.
