CNA programs in Philadelphia???

Heya! I'm actually going to be going to jefferson in the spring of next year (2010) and I was thinking maybe I could become a CNA and work side by side with an RN in the meantime. I am currently a Medical Assistant but am unsure if I should focus more on the clinical aspects of medical assisting until nursing school or grab some experience with more direct patient care as a CNA.

Also... having trouble finding CNA programs here in Philadelphia, specially in center city. I applied for a program in Holy Redeemer but they have a huge waiting list. Any help??

Red Cross offers CNA programs, but you'll want to call them to find out about them. The website doesn't really have good info.

If you're willing to cross the river, Gloucester County College has 2 CNA sessions this summer, for $1,049. July 6 through 27 and August 5 through 28.

Oops. I take that back. The courses are closed already. You may want to call them and see if they have a waiting list. Sorry and best of luck!

thanks much! Any other information on CNA training in Philadelphia would be great! Center city area would be amazing

I hope they updated it- I had the list from the department of ed last year and when I called through many of the places had not operated a CNA class for a while.
