CNA Program at Northshore CTI

Published

I'm new to the boards and semi-new to this field all together (used to be a DSP), so hey yall.

I just finished my first week at Northshore CTI in Ronkonkoma (eastern Long Island). Got five more to go, including clinicals week.

I haven't seen a lot of talk about this place, and I was surprised to not find any information at all here. To the point where I was half-sure it may have been a scam. But my first week of class is done and I gotta say I really love this program so far. The whole six weeks is $998. I started April 28th and my class ends June 6.

Has anyone else done this program?

I'm interested in taking this program and was wondering what you can tell me about it! Thanks

I really recommend the program. Cheapest I could find, with wonderful teachers. Clinicals were a lot of fun, and I passed my tests with flying colors. You schedule it online and take it right in the same building you had classes. The tuition includes the text. I started work as a cna a month later. Let me know any specific questions you have

Hey! I am DSP as well and am looking to leave this job, as there's minimal room for growth and the pay is not good. I am enrolling in the Northshore institute on Monday, their evening classes. Just a couple of questions:

Did you feel adequately prepared for the written and skills portion of the CNA test?

How quickly did you find a job after you passed?

What is the average starting hourly wage for a new CNA in Suffolk?

Ignore the second question, now see where you said you were hired a month later.

I was interested in taking the CNA course at North Shore CTI as well!

I haven't heard that much about this program and I'm kinda getting skeptical. There are no reviews online, no pictures of the building, and when I search the address on google maps it takes me to a a lot of land labeled as the building...

Did you find a job after the program? Would you recommend it? thankyou!

I highly recommend this program.

I finished the program and my last day of clinicals on June 1st, paid Prometric June 2nd, and took and passed the test on July 14, which was a Thursday. The following Monday, I was hired at a nursing home and am working there now. I also got hired at stony brook hospital and will begin orientation soon.

They prep you well for the exam and my teacher wrote me a letter of recommendation for a job. It's in Ronkonkoma. I recommend calling them and asking when their next class begins. It's legitimate and you get alotta bang for your buck.

Thank you for your response! How is the study material? I'm starting classes soon at college and I'm not sure if I can handle 7 weeks of CNA training along with being a full time student...
