Has anyone taken the cna classes at csn? If you have can you please give me some info about it (such as: did you like it, how were the teachers and the clinicals, etc.) I'm going to start classes in January and eventually become an RN, and I was wondering if this is a good way to realize if the nursing profession is really for me. Any tidbit of information and advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi!! Have you already registered for your CNA classes? Do you mind sharing who you have for your teachers?
I did the program just this past spring and I LOVED it! I also did it to make sure going into nursing was something I wanted to do. (Though - make sure you understand that what a CNA does and what an RN does is quite different!) I found the online lecture to be easy! The lab teacher was a little grumpy at times - but knows her stuff! She's not always the best at answering questions...but I still left feeling like I knew what I was doing. My clinical instructor was my favorite!! She was SOO awesome at helping us out! She's incredibly down to earth and you feel like she's your friend! (This is how all instructors should be!!) She made the experience really great! While some classes had to be partnered up for most of the semester - she let us have our own residents from the start! We still worked together...but it was nice actually getting to learn and work!
If you put the effort into it and go into the program with an open mind (some of the stuff you'll be doing isn't so fun....and quite nauseating)... you'll come out of it learning a lot!! I am definitely glad I did it! I feel more prepared to start the nursing program in January because I already know some of the basics! :)
Oops...sorry! I was just told that I shouldn't put names on here. I can't figure out how to go back and edit them out though!! Sorry!!
