CNA Classes in Chicago

Hi I took the CNA course back in 2012 to get in nursing school and I went to Samland institute in Park ridge they also have one up north and is was like $600 and 5 weeks. Class 3 days a week and clinicals was on sundays. Back then financial aid did not cover CNA programs anywhere idk about if there is any change to that now

So far I think the average is $900-$1,000 with an 8 week course. The best I've found is Career Career Training Center of Chicago on Peterson, 5 weeks and its $850 but that doesn't include state exam, book, supplies. So more like $1,000.

The Career Training Center of Chicago is definitely your best option. They start new classes every month, February 15th being the next (which I'm enrolled for). CCC's program takes up one semester, with a $1500 price tag.

Which nursing program are you applying for?

I'm not sure yet but I'm thinking about Oakton. I'm having trouble with the timelines for admission. It seems the next time I'll be able to apply for a program will be by Jan 2017 in order to start Fall 2018? That seems like lightyears away!

Do you know of programs that accept students twice a year? I'm still starting on my prereqs. I was pursuing a Bio degree almost 8 years ago so although I know I'll have to redo my science classes, still trying to figure out if the rest will work.

I'm very new to this and trying to get into nursing with any research I find on allnurses. It's especially hard picking up the pieces when trying to go back to school.

Oakton accepts applications every October (normally). For example, the next application cycle will open from October 1, 2016 - January 23, 2017 (Fall 2017).

To answer your question, Harper College accepts students for both fall and spring.

If I'm not mistaken, the only courses you have to retake are the sciences. Just make sure you call the colleges academic office and ask tons of questions. Your definitely on the right track by using allnurses, it helped me out big-time.
