Cmsv

I just spoke with someone at CMSV and they recommended that I take the prerequisities at my local community college since it would be cheaper. I have no problem doing that and was grateful for the advice as I had not thought about that! I am discouraged and sad however, because after I complete all of my prerequisites, I wouldn't be able to start until the Fall '06 session (that is of course, if I get accepted). Next year seems soooo far away! I really wanted to get started asap. Another thing, the reason why CMSV is appealing to me is because they offer evening classes, which is what I can only do since I work full time during the day. But if I take my prerequisites at my community college and transfer them in & I get accepted, then I will only have to take the nursing classes & clinicals at CMSV but those classes are not offered during the evening/weekend. The clinicals especially are only offered during the day and that would mean that I wouldn't be able to keep my full time day job. I would either have to quit my job, or ask for part-time, and if they say "NO", then I would have to look for a part-time job or just simply not go to school. This is so depressing. Another thing, since they recommended that I take my prerequisites at my community college, I might as well go to BMCC! They do offer evening/weekend classes. Sorry that this message sounds so depressing but that is how I feel right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

i'm also a newbie and an alumnus from the gradaute nursing program at cmsv. hold your head up proudly---you've made a decision to continue your education. that's one of the major rites of passage in life. work it!

if school and work seem to place a major conflict in your life at a particular school, do what you have to do to get what you need. if there's a feasilbe way for you to combine full-time employment with school (due to financial needs/pressures), go for it. your decision will be based on what's more important to you---your present place of employment or your choice of school.

:balloons: i celebrate your success in school and at work!
