I was just wondering if anyone had any information on the BSN program at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg? I'm a military wife, and we're scheduled to move to Whiteman AFB, and I'm planning on getting my nursing degree while we're there. Anything you've heard would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently living overseas and having trouble tracking things down on the internet!! Thanks tons.

Wow, I thought for sure that SOMEONE would've heard of this school!! That doesn't sit very well on whether it's a decent one or not......

If I don't go there, I'd have to go into Kansas City.

Do any of you know of a school with a bachelor nursing program that is somewhat southeast of Kansas City??? It's hard to gauge where places are on a map.

Specializes in NICU, High-Risk L&D, IBCLC.

I'm sure someone has heard of this school....be patient! Our poor Missouri forum is not exactly busy so it may take some time to get a response. I'm sure you've already checked out CMSU's website, so here's a link to the Missouri's state board of nursing website that lists the NCLEX pass rate for all approved schools in the state: http://pr.mo.gov/boards/nursing/passrates.pdf

It looks like the pass rate is pretty decent for CMSU! I know that's just a start in your research, but you can also contact the school to request info and to ask questions. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for the response. I'm a little stressed out at the moment, and my patience is the first thing to go!!! I did notice that this forum was awfully quiet! I have checked the website, and received information in the post...I was just curious if anyone had first (or second) hand info, since I've never lived in Missouri before. I enjoyed the other post about what's good and bad in Missouri!! It actually made me even more excited about moving there...

So, I apologize for my impatience!!

i wish that i had first hand knowledge for you!

i worked with a girl who went there, i think she still lives around here, if i can find out anything i'll post it. she was happy with the school at the time i knew her.

i went south to school, so i can't say much more.

as an aside, my dad was air force, so i'm familiar with whiteman. hope you like it,hope you like missouri! good luck!

Thanks!! Any info of the surrounding area, and the school, would be great!! I appreciate your help....

a quick note and then i'm off to bed.

i don't know if you've been to the site for cmsu, but just in case, a couple of links...

anyhoo, hope that helps a bit. sedalia is about 30 miles east of where you'll be. warrensburg is about 8 mi west and i think kansas city is about 50 mi west-ish.

if you like bbq, there is a little place called perry fosters in warrensburg, it's a little grungy(i'm a germ-phobe) but it's awesome! mmm... sweet potato fries...

we go to warr. bout 1-2 x a month, (so works for a co with an office there)

it's a typical college town, enough to do but not huge variety. i'm sure whiteman has changed since i was last there, eeks, 10 years ago with pops, but it was pretty nice then. kc is a great place to do stuff, just about anything you could want (could i endorse the chiefs here!? lol) sedalia has the state fair, hence the college. other than that, it's widewide countryside.

don't know much more right now! nightynight! :zzzzz

Hello,

I am from Warrensburg and took my prereq's there. That has been many years ago, but, I have a cousin who is going to school (not nursing). The nursing students do clinicals in the local hospital and in several hospitals in Kansas City.

I believe CMSU is a good nursing program. Warrensburg is ok to live in while going to school. I don't want to move back since I tend to go for bigger cities. Good Luck.

hi stine75, i just found this while poking around state fair college site, just thought you might like to take a look. they offer classes at a sattelite campus at whiteman.
