Generally, the State of Florida pays very low for these types of positions. You can go to http://www.myflorida.com and investigate some of the State jobs that are available. Children's Medical Services is listed as well as jobs with the Division of Health Quality Assurance. Payrates for RN's are in the upper 30's. But, they make up the payrate being so low with great State benefits. I have several friends that work with the nursing home inspection team. They have said that once you are in the system and work for a couple of years, they do get decent cost of living raises and annual increases. So, it really depends on where you want your career to go and what your willing to earn on the front end. Once in the system, you can make more money over the years and the jobs are pretty secure. Hope this helps.
