Do you REALLY get productivity bonus?
A lot of hospitals try to give less money to NP even if they promise that they are gonna give productivity bonus.
I wonder if being NP is really worth it if they don't get productivity bouns...

Very few states allow totally independent practice. Most require a collaborative agreement with a physician. All advanced practice nurses must be able to get along with a wide range of personalities and differences from "arrogant nurses" to "docs who think they are God." Perhaps you need a change of environment. I truly don't think you would be very happy as an APN either.
Hi there. For most of us, its not about the productivity bonus. I'll be honest, in the hospital, the way billing is done, NPs probably don't get much of a bonus since the doctors are the usual ones billing because its more money.
Out in the clinics though, a productivity bonus is more common. However, it doesn't come right after graduation for most of us. Just as a new nurse learns new roles, so does the APN. You don't start at the top - lol.

I don't get productivity bonuses but my salary is based on productivity. That's fine with me.
