CLEP Tests?

I am thinking about Clepping out of General Bio. and English Comp. I am a fairly strong student with a 4.0. If I CLEP these courses I will be able to apply to a nurseing program at the beginning of the year. Any advice on this?

I took the CLEPs for biology and chemistry, and it was well worth not having to take the courses. The bio was easier than the chem, I thought. I felt like I was guessing on most of the questions but I passed with a pretty good score.

The way I looked at it, I had everything to gain and nothing to lose. If you fail, you'll just end up having to take the courses, which is what you'd be doing anyway if you didn't try the CLEP. If you pass, you save a lot of money and time. There's no harm in trying. Good luck :)

Before you make the decision to CLEP, be sure that your school will issue college credit for the abovementioned subjects. For example, there are 34 subjects that you are allowed to CLEP at my school, but they will only issue actual college credit for 20 of these subjects. Certain subjects that are offered by CLEP, such as American Literature and College Mathematics, will not receive any college credit from my school and, therefore, these classes need to be taken the old fashioned way. Good luck!
