Classes

Published

Hi everyone,

I am taking pre-reqs before I apply to the nursing program and am also taking a few classes required in the program before I get accepted to take some of the work load off of me. I am just curious if anyone has taken introduction to nutrition, medical terminology, medical math, and pathophysiology at the same time. I would like to know if it is do able or if I am taking on too much work to handle. I am taking anatomy and microbiology at the same time in the fall and I hear that is tough so I didn't want to add anymore classes to the mix. I would really appreciate some feedback!

Youll probably be pretty busy, but it is not impossible to do. Nutrition is a class you can do in your sleep for the most part, just a lot of writing. Medical terminology is essentially about memorization so your "toughest" classes should be the latter two. For the most part I did not find taking Anatomy & Microbiology together hard at all...Anatomy was a chore, but Micro was so much fun and was mostly writing and doing labs.

The only thing that would concern me is taking pathophysiology before anatomy. Do you have background in anatomy and/or physiology? If not, I'd see about taking anatomy first.

Thanks for your input! I already took anatomy part 1 last spring and am taking part 2 this fall so my anatomy will be completed before I take pathophysiology. Did either of you take medical math? I was just curious on what kind of things ill be learning in that class!
