Class scheduling help

Published

Hi all. I am trying to figure out my class schedules for the next two terms. I applied to the nursing program this January and hope to hear in the next month or so. In the meantime, I have 3 more classes that I need to take (I think they are referred to as co-requisites). I still need:

Pathophysiology

Psych - Human Growth and Development Through the Lifespan

Micro-biology

I have spring term and summer term to take these three courses. I suppose I could take them after that, but hopefully I'll be in the nursing program in the fall and I don't want to have to take anything other than the nursing courses if at all possible. I also want to take Dosage and Calculations, to give myself a bit of a leg up on the math for nursing school.

Anyhow, if anyone who has taken these or similar classes could give me some advice on scheduling I would appreciate it. All three have online versions (although the micro class has an on campus lab). I'm taking Physiology this term, so it would make sense to take patho next term. However, I don't know about taking patho and micro in the same term, but I also prefer not to have to be on campus for a lab over the summer if at all possible.

I am a good student and the science classes haven't been too difficult (although I did have to work my tail off to get an A in a hybrid anatomy class). But, I do have 3 kids (8, 6 and 4) and work parttime. I have very high expectations for myself and tend to obsess a bit about keeping my gpa. I am trying to set a very good example for my kids to help them develop good study habits.

So, if it were you, which ones would you take online and which would you take in person? Would you take the psych class with micro or with patho? Would you even bother with dosage and calculations?

I haven't taken pathophys, so I'm not sure how that would go exactly, but I'd probably take Micro and Psych first, then Pathophys the following semester. I would only take the Psych class online, and only if you can find a teacher who has an easy/simple rep.

Good luck.

I would separate patho and micro to make it easier on yourself. Good luck on getting in.
