Choosing what area to work in

I am in my 4th semester and will graduate in December. I have accepted a position in the Neuro/trauma ICU, but have not gone through any onboarding process and I won't start until I pass nclex in January . I have been thinking , and might actually want to work in the PICU instead. Is it bad to switch after I already accepted a position?

This is a question you would have to ask your facility. I will say it may be hard to switch at that particular hospital if you have already agreed to take a job somewhere else. Main thing you just need to ask yourself is can you see yourself working with adults vs kids all the time. You will get a great experience at both if it is a high acuity place but they will be very different.
