Hi,
I'm a new graduate RN and I have taken a full time night shift job. I am also a single mom with two small kids 18mos and 4years. I was wondering how all of you single moms (I know there must be some out there) handle childcare? I will have my dad and stepmom living close by and they have offered to take the kids overnight, but they both work. I also have a tentative daycare worked out for during the day so I can sleep, but my main concern is weekends. My dad and stepmom both work variable schedules that include weekends and I don't know of any daycares that run on the weekends. How do you guys do it? Have you been able to find a dependable babysitter? Please give me some suggestions. I have a while to figure it out since I don't start work till September.
Thank you!
Jessica

Giving this a little bump. I've had to turn down night shift positions because of childcare issues (hubby deployed, no family in the area, no reliable overnight babysitting). Thankfully in August this won't be an issue for me.
Hope you get the answers you're looking for!
