hi all
i am taking fundamental of chemistry during fall. does this course require critical thinking likes math does or is it based on a lot of memorization like microbiology.

A lot of math skills, not too much memorization. You may have to memorize the abbreviations and possibly the weights of some of the elements in the periodic table, but that's not too bad. Some of them that you see over and over again you can't help but memorize anyway! I'll probably never forget that Carbon © is 12.011 amu. :chuckle

I am taking descriptive chemisty 112 this semester. I guess there is alot of math. I was told we will need to know metric conversions, scientific notation, and some algebra stuff. I took algebra over the summer so hopefully it will help.
I made sure to take math before Chem, sure glad I did. I have a math phobia and it is not what I am strong at. Good luck to you. :)
