Cheat sheet for clinicals

I am currently in clinicals and my professor really makes sure we know our stuff(which will be good in the long run, I know!). I just get a tad overwhelmed and nervous when she comes over and asks me 21 ques.

So I am trying to find a format that will help guide me through my pre clincal and throughout the shift so I can easily gather my info and dish it out to my prof with ease.

Thanks!

what specifically is your prof asking about? is it general (non-pt specific) like normal lab values, disease patho, etc? Or is it pt-specific info like VS, ADLs, pt complaints, pt labs, focused and system assessments, etc? If it's general, then you can do a master cheat sheet and put it on the back of a clipboard. If it's pt -specific info, do a search here on allnurses for "brain sheet" - there's TONS of great ones, and you can use them as-is or tweak and pull what you like from each to make your own :) I'm on my third version now (I've redone each semester to adjust to the particular floor/focus I'm in)

make sure you inspect abs and feet other wise, you didnt really to a morning assessment,,at the end of one of those sheets, make sure you have an entry that has to do with, "what two things do i need to tell the nurse/teacher about my pt?",, make it mandatory that you tell your teacher at least two things about your patient immediately after your assessment, and it will probably be pain level, loc, or appearance of dressing...and make sure you have an entry for where you asked them about what happens to them when they leave hospital (staying with son, etc).
