My apologies to all where I have posted this on the wrong board.
How many of you have been in the chat room and have been ignored? Am I the only one?
I logged on tonight and there was one person (name will withheld), I asked a question and tried to make conversation. after three attempts the other user logged off
Either my conversation is rubbish or they didn't really want to talk............
Raises the question...........Why log on in the first place?
Either way it's put me on a right downer!

Some people log in and then go elsewhere (on allnurses or whatever) and then return periodically to see if anyone else is in chat. I've had the same happen to me, where I kept posting and using the sounds to get the other person's attention, and nothing worked. I just figured that person wasn't REALLY there, just the icon! (I refused to feel slighted, tho'!)
Sometimes posters who enter chat will create a chat thread, informing those on the forum that there IS, in fact, someone in chat room. Or, if you know when you'll be available for chat, post it on the BB: date and time (and Mtn, Eastern, Pacific, etc), so maybe others will plan to join you.
So far I do what Karen G does: I log in, scan the room for others, then leave if no one else is there. I must say, it isn't very productive most of the time.
Looking forward to running into you sometime in chat! -- Diana

Chat rooms work best if there are stated times during the week to gather. I used to belong to a board that had scheduled chats Sundays at 7:30 pm and Wednesdays at 9:00 pm. We always had a ball and mostly everyone behaved. You might recommend that to the moderators of this board.
