You will have to ask the college of nurses of Ontario. Their website is http://www.cno.org

Usually you have to submit transcripts with your request for a license in another province. Your course work is assessed and then a decision will be made. If you need to upgrade courses, you may be able to obtain a restricted license. I know that Alberta requires BC LPNs to upgrade their A&P when they apply for a license in Alberta.

It doesn't appear to be a major stumbling block for those who've had it happen to them.

I've never heard of anybody having to re-write the exam. Its a national exam geared towards the minimum level of PN training.

I transferred my LPN to RPN from Alberta to Ontario years ago. Basically what they wanted was a record of hours worked in the capacity of LPN (RPN in your case) in your home province. They may need to verify these hours with past employers. If you meet the minimum, they'll likely issue you the license here. You may be asked to do upgrading or refresher courses if your hour count is low. For me, it was a HUGE hassle, as I had to contact previous employers and get the hours worked info verified. It literally took months to accomplish this, but the problem may be less for you, depending on how many hours you were working, and how many employers were involved.
