what are my chances?

I went for an interview today, and long story short, i would kind of be a case manager. although the pts. have case managers, i would communicate daily with approx. 20 home health nurses and get report from them, ensure proper care is being done, we are meeting outcomes, etc. so here is the problem. i am a new grad (dec. 07) and have been working in L&D so i dont really have that much experience. BUT i told her i'm very dedicated and i would do anything and everything to learn and help my staff (which i would!) but my question is this: what can i do to learn about home health to better my chances if i go back for a 2nd inteview? i really would like the job, and i showed i was willing but i need something that will give me an extra boost! thanks!

The only problems I see is that you have only been out of school for a few months and don't have home health experience as an RN, I'm afraid you would be biting off more than you can chew. I'm not trying to be mean so please don't take this the wrong way because I'm just being honest. If you are that sincere about the position, let that manager know and make sure you tell her why you want to switch to home health care and what it means to you. You're chances may be good.

just do some home health work! people try to make it seem like home health care is so very difficult. Nursing homes are difficult!! You work one on one with one person and not 50. REally, don't rack your brain over it, you'll be fine. just have good communication skills

hmmmm i'd have to ask.......what makes you think you can do this job? L&D is sooo much different from the position you are applying for. your experience is quite limited. sorry. on your side, you have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. there is no doubt you can do whatever you put your mind to. if you want it....go for it. you are a nurse....you can do anything!
