Chamberlain: pros and cons?!

Which campus were you looking at? I think each campus has its own pros and cons.

I'm looking to take classes at the Chicago campus!

I am also looking into the Chicago campus! I heard a lot of pros. The only cons were the price and transferring credits to other schools. When I looked into the universities they were around the same or even higher! Thanks for starting this post because I want to know more pros and cons! I'm want to start in October what about you?

Oh awesome! I'm thinking about starting in the fall as well! The Chicago campus is newer but I'm hoping we can get some feedback from the recent graduating class! Yea the price is a con for sure but if I don't get into the other college I'm waiting to hear from then I really don't have any other choice : ( Have you applied to other universities?!

The curriculum, which is national, is great. You'll get a lot of learning about each speciality. I go to another campus, so I can't say what is good or bad about Chicago. Yes, the non-transferrable credits is a con, but hopefully that doesn't need to happen :)

I like that classes are only 8 weeks long. Yes, you learn a ton of info in that short period, but if there is a class you aren't fond of, you don't have to endure it for 16 long weeks! :)

When I met with the admission counselor he explained the 8 week class times and I was very pleased to hear that!

It tends to get hard to sit in a class for 16 weeks even if it's enjoyable!

Hopefully all works out for me! I'd hate to wait another year to get into nursing school so that is why I started considering Chamberlain! I like that you can basically apply at anytime!

I'm at the st. Louis campus but I love how all the staff and faculty there are SO nice and want you to succeed. chamberlain has what we call a CAS (center for academic success) and every test you have in every class there will be a study review session set up for it already, so you don't have to worry about trying to find people to study with.

one con (besides price)- if you want to succeed it is almost impossible to work full time, even part time. I thought I could do it but I start my nursing classes July 9 and with my schedule I had to quit my job. I need to be able to utilize the resources given to me at the CAS like the study sessions and I didn't want to have to miss it because of work. being successful and graduating is top priority for me right now, not working. however I am gonna stay in the salon only on Saturdays and I do federal work study at the school; so hopefully that will supplement my bills.

I currently attend the chicago campus and I love it. The instructors are great and definitely utilize your resources such as the tutoring in the cas center. I would have to disagree with you about not being able to transfer your credits to another university and I know people who attended chamberlain and was able to transfer their credits earned at chamberlain to well known grad school. As long as the school that you're transferring your credits to has the same accreditation you should be fine. it's great school.

Did any of you ever persue Chamberlain and still attending, how is it?

I am also considering Chamberlain to pursue my BSN. is the school worth attending if you have to search for a grad school that will transfer their credits? Also, if these credits don't transfer well, are they accredited? I don't want to make the wrong decision considering how expensive it already is.
