Chaffey ADN program racist?

Hello, I am a pre-nursing student and I am finishing up my prereqs. I live in southern California and I have been looking at the schools in my area. I am normally the type of person who does not believe what anyone tells me, but now I am becoming concerned. I have read other threads on here about Chaffey college's ADN program that mention politics and favoritism as issues at the school but none of the threads talk about those issues being a result of racism. I have encountered a number of people who have told me that Chaffey's ADN program is "racist." The people who have told me this have gone to the school or currently go to it. I was shocked to encounter that many people saying the same thing and it made me think for a bit. I also remember seeing pictures of graduating classes and noticing that most of the students in the pictures are white. Chaffey seems to be such a great school and they are really good about promoting a diverse student body, so I don't understand how this could happen there and continue to go unchecked. I guess what I'm trying to say is has anyone else heard this and if so is there any merit to the claim that Chaffey's nursing school is racially biased?

Welcome to Allnurses.com!

I belong to a racial minority and was born/raised in Southern California, yet have never heard of overt racism associated with Chaffey College's nursing program.

Thats good to know. The things I have heard are along the lines of students with accents being targeted or hispanics and african americans being booted from the program at a rate higher than white students.
