Chabot Fall 2010

Did anyone get accepted or rejected letter for Chabot College nusing program? I am desperately waiting for the result, but nothing yet.

you will have to wait till the end of this month.I wish you luck. Am waiting too.

They're sending letters on April 30th :)

Oooo really? April 30th? I didn't know the date for this one. I hate not knowing when I am going to know. They say I am out of district for chabot though so they told me my chances of getting in were really bad.

I hate not knowing too. If you're out of district you can only get in as an alternate.

Really? As an alternate only? I also live out of district. Anyway, I will take my chance.

Yep. From Chabot's website:

"Eligible residents of: Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, and Union City will be placed in the Chabot College location pool where 40 will be randomly selected. Eligible residents of: Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, Sunol will be placed in the Valley Care location pool where 20 will be randomly selected.

Non selected but eligible residents of both pools will then roll into the eligible non-resident pool where all will be assigned a random alternate number and, if selected, will be subject to placement in either location depending on the slot vacated."

Which means that only residents are eligible for the original 60 spots, and non-residents are eligible for alternate spots.

Hello,

I just received my acceptance letter from Chabot for Fall 2010. I am the 4th alternate for the Chabot location.

Has anybody else received an acceptance?

You'll definitely get in! Congrats :)

I got into the Livermore campus. I am turning it down though, because I also got into CSUEB (and Ohlone.. I couldn't believe I got into all three that I applied for).

Jennafezz: I can't believe your luck! Kindly, promptly turn down Ohlone. I'm number 10 on their waiting list, which is the best lottery result I've had this year.

For those of you still waiting for your letter, I heard there were 604 qualified applicants in the pool for Chabot. They are accepting 60, and holding on to 75 alternates. Best wishes!

Hello,

Does anyone know how far down the alternate list they usually reach for the Chabot campus?

Thanks and good luck to everybody!

Congratulations, jennafezz! Are the Ohlone and CSUEB programs lottery based?

I really hope to get in, but I'm not sure how far down they usually reach into the alternate pool. Four people of the 40 admitted into the Chabot campus program will have to turn their acceptance down for me to get in. I hope it doesn't take too long to find out if I'm in or not.

Take care,

Steph:^)

^CSUEB isn't lottery based. None of the CSUs are lottery based. Yes,Ohlone does the lottery system.
