CEUs Online?

Hey all! My boyfriend has to do 12 Continuing Education Units (Credits) a year in the state of Washington, in order to be caregiver for his nephew who is a DD client. Well, he does his online and SEIU caregivers alliance pays for it since he has caregiver benefits and insurance through them. My question is, as a caregiver myself, (an NAR), is there a place online I can go to do my CEUs that's fast, legit and doesn't involve snail mail? I know I will have to pay for them myself or my employer will, I'm a bit foggy on that since she garnished my wages to pay for the other classes I needed in order to work for her I don't see why she would have me pay for some and not all of the required caregiver classes to work for her. I guess I'm really asking two questions. Lol! Thanks all!

There are a lot of free CEUs out there. I have a Medscape account, and there are a lot available there. Just be sure to print and save the certificates.

Ok thanks! And another quick question; we have to send off copies of the certificates to the same place where we sent off to get out NAR/CNA? Or is it a different place for CEUs? I'm asking as much for myself as for my boyfriend who did the online classes, got the certificates emailed to him but he thinks that's all he has to do; that they will automatically know that he did them via the computer, etc. I told him no, that he needs to send copies of the CEU certificates because they don't just know you've done them because some online program says so. Or I could be completely wrong and the state of Wa for caregivers is hooked into every online CEU class out there and one can just email off their certificates to them. It's very confusing to say the least. Lol!

As I understand it, and I could be wrong, we need to keep the certificates and if we are choosen to be audited, then we have to be able to produce them. But I've been dealing with inital licensing, and not the CEU part yet.

What bandaide said. You only send in when and IF you are audited. I bought an accordian folder and have it divided by years. I print off my certificates and keep them in the folder.

This is correct. You don't need to send anything into the state unless they request it.
