certs and recerts

I was told that the physicians signature date has to be the same as the certification due date? I thought a few months ago someone said its a red flag for state if they all match?

Thanks

Oh I don't know. Not familiar with that. Sorry.. Im familiar with home health though. For us, our certification period lasts for 60 days.. And the doctor's signature must be signed within 30 days from date of order. If pass that then we dont comply with medicare's rules and regulations. And we could get flagged for that. Maybe you can google it?

Unless a physician is available 7 days a week, your practice does arouse doubt.

The 30-day recertifications should be obtained at no later than 30 day intervals. Therefore, a physician can sign the recert on or before the due date. The next recert is due again 30 days from the date the physician actually signed. If not signed on date due, simply include an explanation for the delay.
